Ecoglo®’s expertly engineered F4-E20 Photoluminescent Anodized Flat Stair Nosing is designed to enhance egress speeds in all lighting conditions and provide exceptional step-edge visibility. After gaining a full charge from exposure to either a natural or artificial light source, the integrally bonded photoluminescent brightly lights stairways after the power has gone out to safely guide occupants to the exit discharge. This versatile non-slip aluminum stair nosings can be installed on a variety of substrates such as concrete, timber, tiles, checker plate, steel and thin carpet. Our patented manufacturing process brings you the very best in luminescent properties, ensuring you have a luminous egress product you can trust.

General Information

  • Install our stair strips using polyurethane adhesive and mechanical fasteners. The product can also be installed using only the adhesive.
  • This metal stair nosing comes supplied with pre-drilled countersunk holes, including stainless steel fasteners and concrete nylon anchors. The standard hole is located 2” from each end and approximately 12” apart.
  • The standard lengths for our metal stair nosing are 8ft and 10ft, but this illuminated stair nosing is also available in cut to length sizes (Tolerance + or – 1/8”).
  • Inserts can come Attached or Unattached – Unattached is recommended for on-site cutting. Use premium polyurethane adhesive to install Ecoglo® inserts.
  • This egress signage weighs 0.44 lbs/ft.

Aluminum Finish:

  • This abrasive stair nosing is available in 6063 – T5 Aluminum, Mill Finish, or with Clear or Black Anodized Finish (Anodized to Type 2, Class 1. 20 microns thickness).
  •  Light Bronze and Dark Bronze Anodized finishes are available at an additional cost.

Metal Stair Nosing Engineered for Durability
  • We manufacture our aluminum stair nosing using Ecoglo®’s patented process to produce the most durable and efficient photoluminescent product available.
  • The unique ridges in the photoluminescent strips protect the product from most abrasive wear – providing slip resistance while allowing the aluminum stair nosing to be easily cleaned.
  • Our stair strips can withstand the rigors of thousands of people walking on them and show no signs of wear and tear thanks to the hard-wearing silicon carbide non-slip material we integrally bonded to the aluminum substrate.
  • The thick anodized finish of our aluminum stair nosing is aesthetically pleasing, prevents corrosion, is abrasion resistant, and extremely hard. Its anodized aluminum surface is harder than pure aluminum, which is second only to diamond’s strong crystalline structure.
Step Edge Safety
  • The color of the advanced photoluminescent technology provides a stark contrast to the non slip steps, providing step edge visibility in all light conditions.
  • Our team designed unique ridges into the Ecoglo® photoluminescent strips and the integrated anti slip contrast slips to provide unique all-weather slip resistance – providing sure footing even in the pouring rain.
Stair Covers For Indoor Use and Outdoor Use
  • We used accelerated UV/weathering exposure to test our stair strips’ quality and have proven it is highly resistant to such UV/weathering effects.
  • When subjected to 6,000 hours of UV exposure – which is similar to 30 years of outdoor exposure – the loss in the product’s performance is less than can be detected by the human eye.
  •  Ecoglo® uses a “long chain” polymer in our patented manufacturing process to form strong UV resistant aluminum stair nosings when bonding.
