The requirement for the installation of luminous egress path markings became effective with the adoption of the 2015 International Building Code [see IFC 1104.25, 1025] as part of the Ohio Building Code 2017. As such, all new and existing high-rise buildings in the State of Ohio must now install luminous egress path marking products in all exit stairwells and landings.
For all your luminous egress path marking needs in Ohio, you can rely on ecoglo® to bring you industry-leading photoluminescent products, at the most cost-effective price point on the market!
In our more than 20 years of experience, ecoglo® engineers have perfected the manufacturing process to bring out the strongest photoluminescent properties available on the market. After only a few minutes of exposure to a natural or artificial light source, our luminous egress path markings are sure to keep your Ohio facility glowing from the inside out.
Not only do our products meet Ohio building code compliance, but exceed international building, fire and life safety codes.
Remember… with ecoglo®, you’ll never miss a step!
For hours after the power has failed, ecoglo®’s luminous egress path marking products will be there to safely guide occupants to the exit discharge. Brightly shining through the dark and cutting through smoke, our photoluminescent products ensure your building’s egress path is highly visible, no matter what. Ecoglo®’s luminous egress path markers are completely non-toxic and non-radioactive, making them the safest choice for your Ohio facility.
Stairways within an egress pathway must be well equipped to safely guide patrons to the exit discharge, in all conditions. The visibility of stair treads, handrails and obstructions is critical in order for a safe egress. Providing a highly visible, easy to follow egress pathway allows occupants to quickly, and safely exit the building, even in emergency conditions.
Ecoglo® provides you with a full package of luminous egress solutions to bring your building up to Ohio building codes.
Section 1025 provisions provide an additional level of safety to buildings’ egress paths by requiring the installation of photoluminescent or self-illuminating marking systems that do not require electrical power and the associated wiring and circuits. This means that even if a building’s power supply fails to operate, photoluminescent egress markings ensures occupants can safely egress a building via exit stairways. This is especially necessary in high-rise buildings, which feature a greater anticipated occupant load and occupants which way not be familiar with the emergency exit path.
Review Ohio’s luminous egress guidelines here:
Through education, regulation, investigation and enforcement, the Ohio State Fire Marshal is dedicated to protecting both citizens and the environment from the dangers and negative effects of fire. Moreover, the State’s Fire Marshal is responsible for modernizing and enforcing the Ohio Fire Code, as well as providing training and investigation services. As such, the requirement for luminous egress path markings is vital to building safety in Ohio.
