In Louisiana, the requirement for the installation of luminous egress path markings became retroactive in the state of Louisiana with the adoption of the 2015 International Building Code [see IFC 1104.25,1025] as part of the 2015 Building Code of Louisiana. As such it is now mandatory for all new and existing high-rise commercial buildings in the state of Louisiana to install luminous egress signage and path markings in stairwells and landings.
To outfit your Louisiana facility with luminous egress path markings and directional signage you can trust, work with ecoglo®!
Long before the installation of luminous egress path markings became mandatory, ecoglo® has been working with building and property managers across the country, and around the globe, to create safe and reliable emergency exit systems. In our more than 20 years of experience we have perfected the high-temperature curing manufacturing process, which is unique only to ecoglo®. This process brings out the best photoluminescent properties available, giving you a reliable and always code compliant luminous egress path marking systems.
After simply gaining a charge from exposure to a natural or artificial light source ecoglo® products will brightly glow in the dark for hours, adding a fail-safe level of safety to your Louisiana building.
Remember… with ecoglo® you’ll never miss a step!
When all else fails, ecoglo® shines! Without the need for batteries, wiring or back up power ecoglo®’s luminous egress path markings are ready to light up your building’s egress path way no matter the situation. Our photoluminescent egress products are tested to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use, while still out preforming similar products on the market.
To provide a safe exit path to occupants, all stair treads, handrails, and obstructions within the exit path must always remain visible. Visibility can often be negatively affected under emergency conditions, which can leave some occupants feeling panicked. Providing a well-lit, easy to follow egress path gives occupants the confidence to quickly exit the building, providing a safe emergency egress for all.
Each building is unique, and no two egress pathways will be the same, which is why ecoglo® works with you to create a customized luminous egress system for your Louisiana building, at the most cost-effective price point on the market.
The requirements in section 1025 of the IBC/IFC add another level of safety to a building’s egress paths by requiring the installation of photoluminescent or self-illuminating marking systems that do not require electrical power and the associated wiring and circuits. Even if a building’s power supply fails to operate, photoluminescent egress markings ensure occupants can safely exit the building via the designated egress path. This is especially necessary in high-rise buildings, which feature a greater anticipated occupant load and occupants which may not be familiar with the emergency exit path.
